Oak trees go kerplunk around Menlo Park

by Linda Hubbard on March 22, 2017

Today saw clean up efforts surrounding two large oak trees that tumbled to the ground in Menlo Park, victims of age and the rainy winter.

One, located near the Vallambrosa Center on Oak Grove Avenue (pictured top), forced that street to be closed all morning. Shortly before noon, the Menlo Park Police Department announced that it was now open to one lane of traffic.

The photo below is of another tree that fell close to the Menlo Park Library.

Well life is kind of funny as a big oak tree yesterday fell down between my house and the next door neighbors house. No damage to our house but the driveway was pushed up by the roots of the falling tree. But it did hit part of the house next door but not doing to much serious damage. Another tree that the city told us we could not remove it but now god took over there position. Jon
