Spotted: Red globe of a sun rising in smoky skies

The rising sun had an extra eerie glow early this morning as it rose surrounded by the smoke that still lingers over Menlo Park, the result of the devastating fire in Butte County. The birds of Bedwell Bayfront Park took little notice.
