4th of July

One of this country’s preeminent ragtime experts, Menlo Park resident and pianist Nan Bostick (pictured left along with percussionist Pete Devine) will be performing an All-American Ragtime Blast on the 4th of July at the First Baptist Church at 1100 Middle Ave. The performance, starting at 3:00 pm, will benefit the San Francisco U.S.O. No reservations are needed; donations are “gratefully accepted,” says Nan.

This year, along with Devine, Nan will be joined by mandolinists Nick Robinson and Dennis Pash of The Ragtime Skedaddlers and String Band as well as guitarist/vocalist Meredith Axelrod. Sergey Smirnov, Palo Alto’s award-winning youth pianist, will  perform as a special guest artist. Following the performance, First Baptist’s pastor Rick Line will be the head chef for a $5.00 BBQ feast.
