Bianchini’s Market

While locals take it somewhat for granted, out of town visitors are always impressed with the open air fruit and vegetable marketplace at Bianchini’s in Ladera. Such was the case when we took friends from Kansas there yesterday to have lunch at the always good Portola Kitchen. The pumpkins took centerstage.

Spotted: Cantaloupe-sized tomatoes from Webb Ranch

Those who miss the Webb Ranch produce stand can find produce grown at the Ranch at Bianchini’s market at the Ladera shopping center. We spotted a bin of heirloom tomatoes the size of cantaloupes there this morning. They’re organic and selling for $2.99 a pound.
