Menlo Masters

Menlo Masters swimmers recently completed the February Can-Do Challenge at Burgess Pool, with over 200 swimmers taking part in the annual challenge.

Since 1995, Menlo Masters swimmers have taken February as an opportunity to re-engage after the holidays, pledging to swim as many yards as possible during the month. Starting in 2005, swimmers have been encouraged to donate a can of food for every 1000 yards they swim.

Representatives from the Menlo Park Senior Center collected the donations on Thursday, March 13, loading over 2000 cans for the lunch program as well as $1000 in cash donations. Eighteen swimmers completed over 100,000 yards each, with Nicole Cadman swimming 245,000 yards total, about 139 miles.
