Tapestries of Hope

Peninsula-based filmmaker Michealene Risley’s documentary Tapestries of Hope will be shown at Kepler’s on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7:00 pm. The full-length film chronicles the story of human rights activist Betty Makoni and the Girl Child Network (GCN) in Zimbabwe. Michealene’s chance meeting with Betty led to their work together to create a story that focuses on the much needed change in how the world looks at and reacts to violence against women and children. The filmmaker will be on hand to introduce her film and talk about her experiences making the documentary. Tickets are $12 when ordered in advance and $16 at the door.
