Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to clean out drawers, which may include accumulated hotel soaps, lotions and shampoos? Hildy Agustin and Pam Salvatierra, who live in the Stanford Oaks neighborhood of Menlo Park, offer an alternative to tossing them out. Explains Hildy:
“We know many of our neighbors travel regularly and may be in a position to collect single use toiletries, such as shampoos, combs, lotions, and soaps. As you travel, please collect any spare, unused toiletries, and bring them to the box that has been placed outside Pam and Oscar’s house at 1794 Stanford Avenue, near Lemon.
“Toiletries like this are really useful for homeless folks, and shelters are always in need of such goodies. It’s such an easy way to give, and the collected items will be donated to an organization that works with the homeless.”
