Menlo Park’s Community Services is holding its annual Kite Day this afternoon (5/1) at Bedwell Bayfront Park. On what might turn out to be the warmest day of the year so far, early participants found a bit of wind on a couple of the hillsides in the park – just enough to have a bit of fun!
The event opened at noon – and continues until 3 PM. Lots of excited children were picking up kites and dragging their parents up to one of several hills in the park to launch their kites.
Also on display were sailplanes and several model airplane flyers who were having fun showing off their aerobatics to friends.
And, along came just enough of a breeze to get the kites into the air!
