Special thanks from Michele Daschbach Fast’s family

by Linda Hubbard on November 20, 2011

Editor’s note: A little over a month ago, Michele Daschbach Fast, who grew up in Atherton, was one of the victims of a shooting that took place in a Seal Beach, CA, beauty salon. That tragedy has resulted in an outpouring of support to Michele’s extended family. Her sister, Laura Daschbach Pitchford, emailed InMenlo this message of thanks, highlighting her family’s deep sense of  gratitude.

“The Fast, Daschbach, Cusenza, Fuerst and Pitchford families wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have supported us since the loss of our beloved Michele. Although our lives have been forever changed by the unspeakable events that took her life, Shell’s spirit of love, friendship and kindness will live with us forever.

“So, too, will the outpouring of support, comfort and prayers that our friends and the members of this community have blessed us with in the wake of Michele’s passing.  We have endeavored to thank personally everyone who has reached out, but given the overwhelming response to our collective grief, we are extending this public thank you to ensure that each of you understands just how much your words and actions have meant to us during this difficult time.

“We also cannot thank enough those of you who have supported the SmileTrain memorial fund established in Michele’s memory. The contributions received by SmileTrain since Michele’s death will enable more than 250 children to receive a new smile, and we can think of no better way to remember Shell than with a big smile.

We wish you and all of your loved ones health and happiness during the holiday season and in the New Year.”

Those wishing to make a donation in Michele’s memory, can do so online.
