Annual Drive Less Challenge kicks off on Earth Day

by Linda Hubbard Gulker on April 17, 2012

This year’s Drive Less Challenge kicks off on Earth Day, April 22, and runs through May 5. A grassroots initiative that started in Menlo Park in 2009, the mission of the Challenge is to promote health, quality of life, and environmentally sustainable transportation by reducing solo car trips. Participants pledge to use alternative transportation modes like public transit, biking, walking and carpooling during the Challenge. You can sign up and join teams (work, school, neighborhood) online.
