Democrat Assembly seekers talk education at Saturday forum

by Linda Hubbard on May 7, 2010

Menlo Park residents will need to head to Palo Alto to hear what the three Democratic candidates for state Assembly have to say about “The Future of Public Education in California.” They’ll give their views at a public forum Saturday morning (5/8) from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the Palo Alto Unified School District board room, 25 Churchill Ave.

The candidates –  Josh Becker, founder of New Cycle Capital; Rich Gordon, a member of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors; and Yoriko Kishimoto, former Palo Alto mayor – are running in the Democratic primary to replace termed-out Ira Ruskin in California’s 21st Assembly . The Republican Primary candidate Greg Conlon, a certified public accountant and businessman, is running unopposed. Both Becker and Gordon live in Menlo Park.

The Media Center will televise the event live on Comcast Channel 28.
