Checking out the St. Raymond Pumpkin Festival

Organizers of the second annual St. Raymond Pumpkin Festival can take a big sigh of relief. Unlike last year’s event, which debuted under drizzly conditions, this year brings bright blue skies and warm temperatures.
The Festival, which got under way yesterday afternoon, runs today (10/22) through 5:00 pm. There’s an assortment of carnival games manned by parent volunteers, many slanted to the youngest game plays, with mini prizes for effort.
The older kids were already lined up to take their turn at the climbing all, three at a time. And while a young girl waited patiently while her face was painted by an alluring enchantress, just across the way a group of fifth grade St. Raymond boys were taking it upon themselves to load up like-sized pumpkins and hawk them from wagons.
The free event is super family friendly and low key.
