Spotted: Zeppelin flying above Oak Avenue

by Linda Hubbard on November 10, 2011

We’re wondering if a group of Menlo residents were aboard the Airship Eureka around noon today. The Zeppelin was spotted directly overhead Oak Avenue, flying west to east and looking much closer to the ground than the photo appears.

This 246-foot long giant is the only Zeppelin in the Americas and is owned and operated by Airship Ventures based at Moffet Field. Unlike a blimp, the Zeppelin has a rigid inner structure made of aluminum and carbon fiber. A ride on it comes with a hefty, starting price tag of $375.
