Teen sexuality is M-A parent education topic on Feb. 2

Teen Sexuality Panel: Get the Facts (What Every Parent Wants to Know) is the topic of the next M-A parent education series scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 2, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, at the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center.

The panel discussion features professionals in the fields of adolescent development and medicine, mental health, and sex education for teens. Topics include teen sexual behavior in San Mateo County, sex education at M-A, birth control/pregnancy prevention, mental health issues, STDs, and more.

Presenters include Christina Walker, Ph.D., M-A On-Site Director of Adolescent Counseling Services (ACS); Shelly Masur, MPH, Executive Director, Teen Talk Sexuality Education; Sylvia Espinoza, M.D., Medical Director, Sequoia Teen Wellness Center; parent educator, Planned Parenthood; and Janet Chaikind, M.D., Supervising Physician for Adolescent Medicine and Pediatrics, San Mateo County Medical Center.
