Author Daniel Handler introduces young adult novel on Feb. 2

by Linda Hubbard on January 30, 2012

Author Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snicket) and illustrator Maira Kalman will discuss their new young adult novel, Why We Broke Up, on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 7:00 pm. The event will take place at the Menlo Park City Council Chambers, 701 Laurel St. in Menlo Park.

Characters Min Green and Ed Slaterton were in love — then they broke each other’s hearts.  In this uniquely modern new novel by Handler — accompanied by  Kalman’s striking paintings — we learn the story of how Min and Ed met at a party, saw a movie, followed an old woman, shared a hotel room…and broke up.

The author and illustrator tell their own break up stories and invite others to tell theirs online at The Why We Broke Up Project.

Priority signing line tickets can be obtained through Kepler’s Books. The event is free and open to the public.
