“Miss Representation” screens at M-A on May 3

The award-winning documentary film Miss Representation, directed and produced by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, will be shown at the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center on Thursday, May 3, at 7:00 pm. Admission is free for parents, students, and community members; tickets can be reserved online. Light refreshments will be served in the PAC foyer beginning at 6:30 pm.
Miss Representation premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and aired on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. The film explores how the media’s misrepresentations of women and girls have led to the under representation of women in positions of power and influence. The film will be introduced by M-A journalism teacher Betsy Snow and students Anna de Benedictis and Helmi Henkin.
