Building one at Beechwood School in the Belle Haven neighborhood of Menlo Park was destroyed by fire early this morning. The building housed administrative offices and one third grade classroom.

The private, non-profit school serves 170 students in grades Kinder Prep to 8th. Principal David Laurance told Mercury News reporter Mark Gomez that the school would be closed for the remainder of this week and reopen on Monday.
