Menlo Park resident Pam Salvatierra is collecting gift cards for vets – and asks that you join her

We received this email from Menlo Park resident Pam Salvatierra: “This Saturday is the White House National Day of Service and I have decided to support our veterans by collecting gift cards on their behalf.

“The cards can be for gas stations, supermarkets, Target, CVS, Walgreens and even local restaurants (think a meal for two).  I’m coordinating this effort with a wonderful organization – United States Veterans – that provides direct services for U.S. veterans in need.

“If you can join me in this worthy project, please purchase a gift card(s) and drop it off at my house, 1794 Stanford Ave, MP, on Saturday between 11:00 and 3:00.  I will be waiting with open, thankful arms.

“And please share this message broadly across your network so we can demonstrate our gratitude to those who have sacrificed so much for us yet unfortunately are not given the proper respect and kindness in return.  We can make a real difference in their lives.”
