Project Read Menlo Park seeks volunteer literacy tutors

Registration is underway for Project Read-Menlo Park’s winter 2013 tutor training, designed to show volunteers how they can help local residents learn to read and write.

The next tutor training sessions begins Tuesday, February 5 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Menlo Park Library, 800 Alma Street.  The session continues on Saturday, February 9 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm  The final session is a follow-up meeting for tutors who have started meeting with their adult students. That session will be held Tuesday, March 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm

During the informative training sessions, volunteers hear from current tutors who have been working one-on-one with their students to improve their reading, writing, and communication skills.  Additional training workshops and tutor meetings are scheduled throughout the year.
