The movie The Impossible graphically depicts destruction caused by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami which resulted in catastrophic loss of life and property. USGS geographer Nathan Wood will explore whether The Impossible is possible in the Pacific Northwest at a USGS public lecture on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7:00 pm where you can learn about which coastal communities are greatest risk, and what can be done now to prepare for future Cascadia tsunamis. The talk, which is free and open to the public, takes place at 345 Middlefield Road, Bldg. 3, Conference Room A, in Menlo Park.
