Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Yesterday, I headed up from Menlo Park to San Francisco to shoot some photos at San Francisco’s annual Saint Patrick’s Day parade. San Francisco goes all out for this parade every year – but, not being Irish, I hadn’t ever tried to see it up close.
Turns out I had a great time. I got there just a bit early and headed to the starting point for the parade – at Second St. and Market. It was fun to watch things get organized – with lots of police and mounted units preparing for the parade.
Once the parade started, I followed along with it up Market St., looking especially for spots that had great light – either direct sunlight or reflected light from a building across the street. Most of the parade was in shadows of the buildings on the south side of Market – but I found a few spots with really interesting light. These two women were across Market Street from me – and we had fun taking this shot!
Hope you enjoy the photos below – and have a wonderful Saint Patrick’s Day! If you’ve got some Saint Patrick’s Day photos to share, please send them our way and we’ll share them!
