The Menlo Massacre, a U10 girls soccer team, defeated San Carlos, 2-1, to win the championship game of the El Palo Alto Soccer Tournament. The championship game was a rematch between the two teams who tied earlier in the season.

Menlo fell behind 1-0 in the second quarter of the title contest, but evened it up with a penalty kick made by Fiona Perkocha right before halftime. Megan Tinsley secured the victory with a penalty kick made right at the end of overtime.  Tinsley also won the championship of the U10 girls keeper wars completion.

The Massacre’s earlier victories in the tournament were 4-0 in Pool Play over the Palo Alto Warriors and  2-0 over the Palo Alto Cyclones in the semi-finals. Menlo Park’s Abi Riley led all scorers with 6 goals in the tournament.
