Spotted: Hillview School principal taking part in National Principal of the Year festivities

We received this email from Hillview Middle School principal Erik Burmeister:

“While I was not selected for National Principal of the Year, the festivities in D.C. were amazing and I had the opportunity to meet with many of our leaders… I met with Senator Barbara Boxer, Rep. Anna Eshoo (picture), Rep. Jackie Speier and the staff of Senantor Feinstein. We also ran into Fran Drescher from The Nanny (just funny…not newsworthy!).

“I also had the opportunity to meet with officials from the US Department of Education and a reporter from the Associated Press. I was able to meet US Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, following his speech to the state POY winners.

“The recognition of ‘finalist’ is given to only three middle school principals in the nation and it continues to afford me great opportunities to promote the interests of public education and highlight Hillview, where great things happening!”
