Halloween related events in Menlo Park and Atherton on October 26

The City of Menlo Park Community Services Department is presenting the 2013 Halloween Hoopla on Saturday, October 26 Come in costume and participate in the annual parade that starts at 11:45 am on Maloney St. off Santa Cruz Ave and  to Fremont Park. After the parade, from 12:30-3:00 pm, trick-or-treat in downtown Menlo Park stores that display trick-or-treat signs on their door. Entertainment and crafts will also be available at Fremont Park. Don’t forget to pick-up your free trick or treat bag at Fremont Park while you’re there! For more information, please call 650.330.2220.

The same day, the Menlo Park Library is holding Teen Pumpkin Carving and Contest from 2:00 to 4:00 pm downstairs in the Community Room. Pumpkins provided!. Registration is required (atajar@plsinfo.org).

Also on the 26th, Holbrook-Palmer Park in Atherton is the site of Halloween Bark for Life, a benefit for the American Cancer Society. Taking place between  9:00 am and 1:00 pm, participants are asked to “dress up yourself, your dog and your kids. Canines and kids will be treated to sweets, snacks and biscuits along the Trick or Treat trail. Be prepared to have your picture taken with your four-legged friend and have a fun start to the Halloween weekend. You will be able to pick up your “Wag Bag” and Bark For Life bandanna for your pooch at registration” (fee is $20).
