Menlo Park photographer David Hibbard takes part in group show with “best friends”

by Linda Hubbard on January 7, 2014

Menlo Park resident David Hibbard contacted InMenlo about a group photography show he is participating in:

“This month, seven of my best friends in photography and I are putting on a group show of our work at the Piedmont Center for the Arts in Piedmont, which we are calling Facets of Light.

“We are a photographic salon that has met on a regular basis since 2007 to share and discuss work in progress. Our collective resume includes many solo exhibits, books published, and workshops taught. Most of us are represented by other galleries. What makes this show special is that it is our first exhibit together.”

Along with David, the list of photographers includes: William Bishop (Santa Cruz mountains), Dorothy Gantenbein (Fremont), Robert Kato (San Mateo), Patricia McClung (Portola Valley), Maude Pervere (Piedmont), Rachel Phillips (Pacifica) and Kelly Starr (Portola Valley).

The exhibit runs from January 10 through the 26th at the Piedmont Center for the Arts, 801 Magnolia Avenue. There is an opening reception on Saturday, Jan. 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and a closing reception on Sunday, Jan. 26 from noon to 3:00 pm. Regular gallery hours are noon to 3:00 pm Friday through Sunday and open by appointment by contacting Maude Pervere: (510) 655-5552.
