The ninth Tour de Menlo was held today, starting and ending at Menlo-Atherton High School where riders enjoyed a catered lunch from Lutticken’s. Cyclists had their choice of 35-, 45- or 65-mile routes.
Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Menlo Park Foundation and the Almanac, organizers said ridership hit a new high this year, with 525 participants. That’s good news as proceeds are used to support Rotary scholarships, numerous other Rotary Foundation projects, and the Almanac’s Holiday Fund drive, which contributes more than $150,000 a year to 10 local nonprofits.
Pictured left are Rotarians Tom Gibboney and Pete Nelson, who were on hand to make sure the event went off without a hitch.
