Menlo Park-based photographer Frances Freyberg is featured artist at Portola Art Gallery in February
The Portola Art Gallery is presenting The Philippines in Photos: From Mountains to the Sea by Menlo Park-based photographer Frances Freyberg during the month of February. There will be a reception for Frances on Saturday Feb. 7, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
The vibrant color photographs feature landscapes, city scenes, florals and portraits from Frances’ travels through the Philippines. Highlights include the 2,000-year-old rice terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras; the Salakayan Festival of Miagao; and the beautiful turquoise waters of Palawan.
In addition to signed and framed photographs, there will also be a variety of photo cards for sale.
Frances traveled through the Philippines in February 2014 with her mother, Menlo Park resident Susan Freyberg, who was born and raised in Iloilo.
Frances, who is a frequent contributor to InMenlo, specializes in portraits of people, wildlife, nature and architecture from her travels to more than 60 countries. Her photos may be found in galleries and private collections worldwide, as well as online. She spent 2008 traveling around the world and building an extensive educational weblog with photos and commentary.
