Atherton hosts multi-city forum on safe street design on March 16

On Monday, March 16, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Jennings Pavilion at Holbrook-Palmer Park, the Town of Atherton will host a multi-agency community meeting (Menlo Park, Atherton & Redwood City) on street designs which focus on safety.

Attendees will learn about innovative healthy street design options in San Mateo County through public officials from Atherton, Menlo Park and Redwood City. Officials from each City will discuss their local street design challenges and opportunities.

The community event will feature Jeff Tumlin with Nelson Nygaard, an inspirational speaker and international expert on state-of-the-art street design. Mr. Tumlin will show a PowerPoint presentation that includes a guide to Urban Street Designs with a focus on (1)Principles, (2) Aligning Policy and Design, (3) Intersections, and (4) Performance Metrics.
