Spotted: Little tykes visiting the Atherton police station

by Contributed Content on April 21, 2015

Over the weekend two Atherton toddlers and their kid sister suited up in full police gear and came to City Hall to learn about their Police Department.

Sergeant Kockler and Officer Dunphy gave the children a tour of the Police Department and of the Department vehicles.

These little tykes learned all about the police motorcycles and pursuit vehicles. They saw where officers store their equipment and what is needed to carry out their daily tasks.

One of the primary things kids learn on a police station field trip is personal safety. They will learn how to call 911 in an emergency, ways to protect themselves, and how to avoid dangerous situations.

The Atherton Police Department encourages parents to schedule an appointment through the Police Department anytime they wish to participate in an educational tour of the Police Department facilities.
