Art work from Belle Have Elementary School on exhibit through the summer thanks to Art in Action program

by Contributed Content on May 28, 2015

An opening celebration on June 2 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at East Palo Alto Library will kick off a summer-long exhibition of artwork by Art in Action Kindergarten through 2nd grade students from Belle Haven Elementary School in Menlo Park and East Palo Alto Charter School.

The exhibition is the culmination of yearlong Art in Action lessons in which students learn about art and artists from around the world. The program is designed to teach students art history and concepts, and to develop their own creative expression and appreciation for other cultures. Art in Action, a nonprofit based in Menlo Park trains teachers and volunteers to deliver comprehensive and meaningful art lessons.

The Art Programs are made possible through grants to Art in Action from Adobe Foundation, Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund, Palo Alto Community Fund and Silicon Valley Community Foundation, and Donor Circle of the Arts.

The exhibition will be on view through August 2015. East Palo Alto Library is located at 2415 University Ave., East Palo Alto.

Art work shown is from 2014 exhibit
