Little House Roslyn G. Morris Activity Center in Menlo Park is hosting an open house on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to introduce the community to its activities, classes and social programs.

“Over the past several months we have expanded the list of exercise/fitness classes, art courses, instructional workshops and social programs to appeal to a much wider demographic,” says Peninsula Volunteer’s CEO Karae Lisle. “While we still serve our core clientele of active older adults, we want residents to know that they can engage in physically challenging classes such as Jazzercise, line dancing, Pilates, Zumba, yoga, and even a ‘boot camp’ for hard-core physical fitness buffs.”

Little House also offers a wide range of cultural engagement opportunities: art classes, ceramics, painting, language courses, computer instruction, cultural events, games, and social gatherings.

“I think that once people see what we have to offer at this Open House — in such a convenient location — they will be much more likely to engage with us now. Little House is becoming a community social hub,” added Lisle.

The Open House will feature demonstrations in dance, exercise, music, ceramics, watercolor, and hands-on instruction in iPad, Facebook, and Skype. During the event, complimentary barbeque and refreshments will be provided and there will be drawings for prizes donated by local merchants.

Little House, a program of the Peninsula Volunteers, is located at 800 Middle Avenue.
