Halloween Hoopla in downtown Menlo Park planned for Oct. 31

by Contributed Content on October 29, 2015

Kids (and their parents) are invited to parade down Santa Cruz Avenue wearing Halloween costumes on Saturday and then enjoy live entertainment, crafts, and carnival games at Fremont Park.

Led by a band comprised of music students from La Entrada and Hillview Middle Schools, the parade will start in the Maloney Street parking lot off Santa Cruz Avenue. After the parade, kids are welcome to trick-or-treat at local downtown merchants. Free trick or treat bags will be available at Fremont Park for all children.

The parade will start promptly at 11:45 am; please allow ample time for parking. Participants are encouraged to enter through the Chase Bank overhang on Santa Cruz Avenue. Maloney Street will be kept open to traffic until the start of the parade; please do not block city streets.

The parade will be conducted on the right side of SCA, while the left lane (heading toward El Camino) will be open to traffic. Please proceed directly to Fremont Park, magic by Marshall Magoon will begin at noon, and the trick-or-treating will begin at 12:30 pm.

The City gives special thanks to the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce for their support and to Cheeky Monkey Toys, who will be sponsoring the craft area at Fremont Park.
