94027 Atherton is America’s most expensive zip code, according to Forbes Magazine. The research was conducted by Altos Research, which looked at median home price data for more than 29,500 zip codes, covering 95% of the U.S. population.

The median price for a home in Atherton was $10,564,038, with an average days on market of 106.

Other Peninsula towns making the top 20 included 94062 Woodside at #7 (median price $5,533,534), Hillsborough at #10 (median price $4,951,458), and Los Altos Hills at #11 (median price $4,027,038),

A quick review of available listings on the Zillow website revealed that the most expensive house currently on the market in Atherton is a newly-constructed home at 190 Almendral Ave. listed for $21,950.000 (pictured above).
