Menlo Park women reports sexual assault in Atherton

An 18-year-old female Menlo Park resident reported being sexually assaulted while on Isabella Ave in Atherton between 5:00 and 6:00 pm yesterday (1/5/16). The victim said she was jogging when she was approached from behind by an unidentified suspect and thrown to the ground. So far, the victim has not been unable to provide investigating officers with a suspect description or exact location of where the attack occurred.

The case is being actively investigated by the Atherton Police Department. Investigating officers are looking for security video from residents that may provide evidence or information of the crime on the following streets: Emilie Ave, Britton Ave, the 100 block of Isabella Ave, and the 100 block of Elena Ave.

Anyone having information concerning this case or that was in the general area between 5:00  and 6:00 p.m. and observed suspicious circumstances, is strongly encouraged to contact the Atherton Police Department at (650) 688-6500.
