Menlo Park Kiwanis Club announces March speakers
The Menlo Park Kiwanis Club holds meetings every Tuesday at the Allied Arts Guild from noon to 1:15 pm. Visitors are invited to attend. In March, 2016, the scheduled speakers are:
March 8, 2016: Mark Leeper, Menlo-Atherton High School shop teacher, shares thoughtful observations in his talk “What High School Students Learn From Shop Classes”. Common sense, patience and work ethic are just a few things students learn while working with their hands – and their minds.
March 22, 2016: Ray Purpur, Deputy Director of Athletics for Stanford University, currently oversees facility development, facility management, capital planning and real estate for the University. He will speak on “The Challenges of Stanford Athletic Programs”.
March 29, 2016: Karen Stiller, Middle East Project Director for the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Bay Area, will talk about “Israel and Its Neighbors”. She previously worked in the Preventive Defense Project at Stanford University.
