Encinal School second graders celebrate Dr. Suess Day

On March 2nd, students all over America celebrated Read Across America or Dr. Seuss Day to celebrate the birthday of American writer and author Theodor Seuss Geisel. Here, in Menlo Park, at Encinal Elementary School, all of the second grade classes were excited to wear their most cozy pajamas to school and to bring their favorite pillow to class so they could participate in a “read-a-thon.”
After lunch recess, students eagerly collected their books and found a comfortable spot to snuggle down and read. Some stayed in one classroom all afternoon, others read to one another or took turns reading and comparing quotes with their friends and some opted to visit a neighboring second grade classroom for some restful fun.
