Parent ed topic on March 29 is “Helping Young Athletes Reach Their Potential”
On Tuesday, March 29, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the La Entrada Middle School multi-use room, Steve Smith, PhD will give a talk titled “Helping Young Athletes Reach Their Potential.” He will address:
- Healthy youth sports participation
- Specialization issues in youth sports
- Raising balanced kids
- Peak performance under pressure
- Goal-setting and the nature of control
Smith is a psychologist and professor of clinical psychology in the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium of Palo Alto University. He served as the consulting psychologist for the Division I Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at UC Santa Barbara and maintains a private practice, the Sport Psychology and Research Center.
