Yvonne Newhouse is May featured artist at Portola Art Gallery

“Behind the Lines” is the title an exhibition of watercolor paintings by Yvonne Newhouse at the Portola Art Gallery in Menlo Park during May. The selection of paintings highlights her ongoing exploration of techniques such as using resist in the foreground to add visual dimension.

Yvonne’s goal with these techniques is to enhance the viewer’s interpretation of the images she presents. She invites viewers to imagine what is veiled “behind the lines” of her watercolors. Her latest works were inspired by recent travels and a series of workshops.

A reception for the artist will be held on Saturday, May 7, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The Portola Art Gallery is located in the Allied Arts Guild (75 Arbor Rd.)
