Rotary Club of Menlo Park awards scholarships totaling $125,000 to local high school seniors

The Rotary Club of Menlo Park awarded academic scholarships totaling $125,000 to local high school students at the 31st annual scholastic achievement awards ceremony this past Monday, May 16.  These need-based scholarships aim to alleviate the financial burden of students who have proven themselves with high academic achievements.

Scholarships to attend four-year colleges were awarded to Yadira Ayala, Diaja Smith, and Lilika Teu of Sacred Heart Preparatory; Cindy Chen and Andriana Contrereas-Sandoval of Menlo School; Caleb Colin-Perez, Yesenia Garnica, Tatiana Guardado, Nohely Peraza, Alondra Sanchez, and Jennifer Villegas of Eastside College Preparatory; Lesly Goppar and Amanda Kelly of Menlo-Atherton High School; and Lupe Ma’afu of East Palo Alto Academy. Scholarships to attend community college were awarded to Alejandra Brambila, Monique Hill, Juan Caballero Lozano, Enedina Meza Martinez, and Rafael Zumarraga of Menlo-Atherton High School
