On Saturday, May 21, the Lions Clubs International celebrated the Charter Night for Menlo-Atherton High School’s new M-A Leo Club at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Redwood City.

The M-A Leo Club is sponsored by the Peninsula Veterans Lions Club. The event welcomed the M-A Leo Club to the Lions Clubs International — the world’s largest service club organization — and to the community with dinner and raffle prizes. Over 70 people attended.

The event was organized by the M-A Leo Club founder and President, Elise Kratzer.  Co-hosts and speakers included Lions Marta and Richard Loewen, Al Russell, and Maggie and Steve Robeson.

The M-A Leo Club is dedicated to serving veterans and opening more doors for all students interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
