M-A Leo Club treats local veterans to barbecue

On Saturday, June 25, the Menlo-Atherton High School Leo Club hosted a fun Veterans’ Barbecue at the Veterans Affairs Center in Menlo Park. The M-A Leo Club served over 70 Veterans 200 hot dogs, hamburgers, and potato salad.
The Veterans who attended are part of the Homeless Veterans Rehabilitation Program (HVRP) and First Step program. After the event, the Leo Club donated the spare food to the VA Center.
“I felt extremely humbled to be serving Veterans in my own community. It was one of those special events where we were able to immediately see the impact of our volunteering.”, said Elise Kratzer, President of the M-A Leo Club.
Marta and Richard Loewen and additional Peninsula Veterans Lions Club members supported the M-A Leos for this event.
