“Aloha Friday” kicks off new Menlo Summerfest in downtown Menlo Park

“Aloha Friday” is kicking off the new Menlo Summerfest coming up July 16-17 on Santa Cruz Avenue on Friday, July 15, a play off the festival’s “Tropical Vibrations” theme. Organizers are encouraging event volunteers, vendors, artists and musicians to don Aloha-style shirts for the weekend and are hoping festivalgoers may get in the spirit too.
Some of the local merchants featuring summery, Aloha-style wear include Afterwards, The Discovery Shop, Kick’s, Dolma and Goodwill. “They’re some of the local businesses that offer an array of new and vintage items with a tropical, summery slant and would great places to find your own unique Aloha-style look for Summerfest,” said Fran Dehn, President/CEO of the sponsoring Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce. “We’d love to see all of the restaurants, cafes, shops and businesses around town embrace and tap into our Aloha Friday theme.”
Menlo Summerfest runs July 16-17 from 10 am to 6:00 pm on Santa Cruz Avenue from El Camino Real to Johnson Street in Menlo Park. The Summerfest Cool Down Concert with Petty Theft runs after-hours on Saturday, July 16 from 5:00-7:00 pm in Fremont Park. Admission and parking are free.
