National Night Out events planned in Menlo Park and Atherton on August 2

National Night Out is an annual event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and promotion of various crime prevention programs including neighborhood watch groups, law enforcement agencies, state and regional crime prevention associations, businesses, civic groups, and individuals, devoted to safer communities.
This year it is being held on Tuesday, August 2, from roughly 4:00 to 9:00 pm, with times varying by location. Here is a list of events being held in Menlo Park. There are also two additional events that are being held a private residences.
Cafe Zoe

Emails Cafe owner Kathleen Daly: “In years past, we’ve had bouncy houses, burgers, ice cream bars, activities for children, and much more. We plan to have a lot of the same things going on this year.”

The town of Atherton is also hosting an event from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Holbrook Palmer Park featuring Red E. Fox Lessons on how and when to call 911, a coloring contest for ages 5 and under, a sketching contest for ages 6 to 10, and a video contest for ages 11 to 17.
