Cafe Zoë is planning a “Get Out the Vote” event on, Friday, October 21, at 5:30 pm, three days before the California voter registration cut off day, with a focus on Menlo Park and East Palo Alto residents.

This event’s purpose is to encourage young people to register and to vote. Those invited include candidates from East Palo Alto and Menlo Park running for City Council. “We want this to be an opportunity for the people to have a more personal interaction with local politicians, to ask the difficult questions and have their serious concerns heard,” said event organizer Zoë Sharkey.

“We are inviting  musicians and spoken word writers of Menlo Park and East Palo Alto to come perform between Q&A sessions. There will be free ice cream for all, and we will emphasize that this is a family-friendly event.”
