Throughout October, the Menlo Park Library Storytelling Festival is bringing you a variety of acclaimed professional tellers. Please join us as we welcome back Alicia Retes, who will appear at the Belle Haven branch (413 Ivy Dr.) of the library on Monday, Oct. 8, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.

Alicia will perform an interactive story with California Native artifacts and replicas, featuring a Yosemite Miwok story about a tiny measuring worm who rescues two grizzly bear cubs. For families with children ages 5-10.

Alicia — part Mayo, Yaqui and Cherokee — is a multifaceted interpretive artisan, naturalist and storytelling musician. Her work is influenced by personal wildlife adventures on land and sea combined with an appreciation for Indigenous People globally, Native cultural arts and a deep respect for nature.
