Man shot multiple times near Menlo Park train station – suspect arrested
Update August 24:
During the 24 hours following the incident, Menlo Park’s detective team worked through volumes of witness statements, officer reports and evidence. Based on this team effort, detectives were able to identify an associated vehicle and person of interest involved in the shooting.
On the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 24, Sosefo Ahofono was taken into custody. Ahofono is a 19-year-old resident of East Palo Alto. Ahofono was subsequently booked into the San Mateo County Jail and charged with one count of attempted homicide.

In a drive by shooting incident on August 21 near Oak Grove and Alma Street, a man was shoot multiple times. The victim was taken to the nearest hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation reveals four subjects in a parked vehicle were the intended targets of the shooting.
Menlo Park detectives are following leads and investigating the incident.
The investigation indicates that this was an isolated incident — the suspects fled the scene immediately after the crime, and there is no active threat in the area.
