Roopa Mohan appears at Menlo Park Storytelling Festival on October 23
The Menlo Park Library’s 8th Annual Storytelling Festival continues with a visit from Roopa Mohan, sharing Tasty Tales from South Asia. Best for ages 6-adult, she’ll appear on Monday, October 23, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
Roopa trained as a volunteer storyteller and docent for school groups at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, where she tells folktales around objects in the museum’s extensive collection. Roopa has expanded her repertoire and now enjoys sharing personal narratives, tall tales, portrayals, myths and legends she heard growing up in South India. She enjoys engaging her audience and enhancing her stories with Indian dance gestures and movement.
Roopa serves on the Board of the Storytelling Association of California, and is leading a project to bring storytelling to underserved schools.
