Blake Street at Middle Avenue closed to motor vehicles

Motor vehicle traffic is no longer allowed on Blake Street at Middle Avenue.

In line with the Middle Avenue complete street project, the City Council authorized the temporary closure of Blake Street at Middle Avenue on Oct. 18, 2022. This deliberate measure is focused on improving safety by discontinuing vehicular access to and from Blake Street at Middle Avenue, while preserving access for emergency vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists.

This particular stretch of Blake Street connects Middle Avenue and College Avenue, serving as a direct route to Nealon Park. The vehicular closure is designed to establish a secure environment for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Convenient routes to Middle Avenue and College Avenue are available via El Camino Real or University Drive.
