Jazz is once again coming to Portola Vineyards this summer

We’ve been long-time supporters of Portola Vineyards, enjoying the Burgundian style Pinot Noir and Chardonnay they produce as well as the member events on their beautiful property. We were there yesterday and were able to capture the budding vines. And we were reminded of the concert series to come this summer.

Picnicking is encouraged and a wine tasting is included with adult tickets. Music runs 6:00  to 7:30 pm. The grounds are open from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

The first three concerts (Howard Wiley, Bill Ortiz and Lunar Octet) are already sold out but you can put your name on the wait list. That has worked for us in the past. You can buy tickets for:

On August 11, jazz vocalist Aubrey Johnson is on stage. Performer on two GRAMMY-winning albums, New York-based Aubrey Johnson has recorded on more than 40 albums and performed with such artists as Bobby McFerrin, Billy Childs, and Lyle Mays. SummerJazz is funding a special grant to Johnson for new compositions to be included in her next album.

To conclude the season, on August 25, saxophonist/composer George Brooks, who bridges the worlds of jazz and Indian classical music, will be featured.
