Burgess Park Skate Park is the scene of second Menlo Park Monster Truck Kid Jam

On Sunday, June 23, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, the Burgess Skate Park (600 Alma St., Menlo Park) will be reserved for kids to come and play with their monster trucks and cars on all the cool ramps at this free community event.
We caught up with Menlo Park resident Jared Carlson who organized the first truck jam a few months back and plans to have monthly jams during the summer months.
“My four-year-old is into monster trucks and we’d go to various play yards,” he explained. “That gave me the idea of contacting skate parks in the area. Burgess Park was the only one that responded! We don’t have to pay to reserve it, which is great.”
The two-hour event is targeted to kids ages three to six, although older kids are welcome as well.
“There are so many fun ways to play with monster trucks,” Jared says. “Some are radio controlled.
“And if kids without trucks want to come and check out the action, they can do so. We’ll probably have a few extra trucks on hand to loan out.”
